SUMMARY:Navigating the early drug discovery journey: a roadmap for emerging companies - Seminar & Drop In Day
DESCRIPTION:Navigating the early drug discovery journey: a roadmap for emerging companies. \nDiscovering a new medicine from an initial idea to drug candidate requires navigating a complex series of scientific and strategic decisions. \nThe seminar will map the key points on the journey through early-stage drug discovery and an overview of the key activities at each stage.  The session will also consider how emerging companies can balance in-house capabilities with outsourcing to specialist providers. \nFollowing the seminar there will be opportunity for informal group discussions or one-to-one conversations. \nSeminar starts 9.30am – 10am in the pink meeting room. Booking required  – see below for tickets \nDrop-in session is 10am – 12pm in The Hub Cafe. No appointment needed. \n  \nIntroducing our speaker:  \nDavid Cronk\, Sighthound Life Science Consulting Ltd \n“I have nearly 40 years’ experience of small molecule discovery\, with key expertise in in vitro biology covering assay development\, high-throughput screening (HTS) and compound profiling. My experience spans large pharma and biotech companies and contract research organisations (CRO). In this time\, I have worked with project teams around the world from large international pharma companies to single project start-ups\, across multiple disease areas and modalities. I founded Sighthound Life Science Consulting at the start of 2025 to leverage my scientific expertise and strong commercial awareness to support drug discovery and platform technology companies.”

SUMMARY:Social Media Growth Lab (Plan\, Post\, Improve) by Alicia Williams
DESCRIPTION:A 3-part workshop – Social Media Growth Lab led by Alicia Williams from The Social Mastery Co. \nEach session will be implementation-led\, where attendees plan two weeks of content during the workshop\, go away and apply it in real time\, and then come back to review\, refine\, and build on what they’ve learned. \nThe aim is to create a space that feels supportive and discussion-led\, where people can share what’s worked (and what hasn’t)\, learn from each other\, and build confidence as they go\, rather than feeling like they have to get everything “right” straight away. \nThe overall aim is that by the end of the series\, attendees feel more confident\, consistent\, and clear on how to use social media in a way that works for their business. \n\nWednesday 11th November – Session 1: Build Your Foundations & Plan Your Content – We’d focus on understanding each person’s brand\, audience\, and direction\, simplifying what social media actually needs to look like for their business\, and then guiding them to plan a realistic two weeks of content during the session itself. The key outcome is that everyone leaves with clarity and something tangible they can immediately implement.\nWednesday 25th November -Session 2: Review\, Refine & Improve – This would be more discussion-led\, looking at what they’ve tried over the two weeks. What worked\, what didn’t\, what felt easy or challenging\, and using that to refine their approach. We’d then build on this by planning their next two weeks of content with more confidence and direction.\nWednesday 9th December – Session 3: Build Momentum & Next Steps – The final session would focus on reviewing overall progress\, identifying what’s now working consistently\, and helping them create a more sustainable approach going forward. We’d also look at simple next steps for growth\, and where they might want further support if needed (for example\, audits or a more tailored strategy).\n\nAll 3 sessions must be attended.

SUMMARY:Byte Size: AI\, Work and the Future of Graduate Roles. Event held in Cambridge. £50+VATpp
DESCRIPTION:AI is rapidly reshaping the future of work\, particularly at the entry level. As routine tasks become automated\, traditional graduate roles are evolving – raising important questions about skills\, education\, and career pathways. This event brings together industry and academic experts to explore how roles are changing\, where new opportunities are emerging\, and how we can prepare the next generation for an AI-driven workforce. \nThis event brings together voices from industry and academia to examine the emerging impact of AI on graduate roles. It will explore how skill requirements are shifting\, where opportunities are arising\, and how education systems can adapt to prepare the next generation. – how organisations can adapt to prepare the next generation. \nWhy attend? Be involved in the societal debate around these critical issues\, gain practical insight\, understand implications for hiring / skills / education \nWho should attend? Employers\, educators and policy makers\, HR\, talent\, recruitment and L&D professionals\,  early-career professionals or students? \nThe rapid advance of artificial intelligence is reshaping the world of work at an unprecedented pace. Historically\, graduate roles have served as the foundation of professional development into industries such as software engineering\, law\, and pharma. These roles often involve repetitive\, data-driven tasks\, which are precisely the kinds of activities that AI now handles with increasing proficiency. \nAs a result\, a growing body of evidence suggests that entry-level roles are increasingly considered to be among the most exposed to displacement or redesign\, with employers increasingly seeking candidates who can demonstrate experience\, specialization\, or immediate impact. This leads to early-career roles evolving in ways that compress or bypass traditional learning stages. \nThis raises a critical question: How should higher education and society as a whole respond to this challenge? \nTickets are £50+VAT pp. \n
