Alan Turing avatar creator, 1956 Individuals, expands global presence

1956 Individuals, an AI pioneer leading the global charge in avatar creation, has entered multiple categories of the 35th Anniversary Business Weekly Awards – and the move could hardly be better timed.  It comes just weeks before the company brings the story of one of the legendary grandfathers of artificial intelligence, Alan Turing, to Bletchley Park in a unique digital AI experience. And in a double whammy, commercial chief Babita Devi confirms that the company has launched operations in Dubai to serve the Middle East and in Guatemala to drive innovation across the Americas.

1956 Individuals, headquartered at The EpiCentre in Haverhill, has meticulously recreated the image and spirit of Alan Turing – whose code-breaking work helped win World War II.
The Turing avatar, designed to interact with visitors and answer questions, will soon be installed at Bletchley Park. Long-term plans include rolling out similar avatars across museums and heritage centres worldwide.

The technology behind AI Alan Turing is adaptable, allowing 1956 Individuals to create custom avatars for a range of locations and narratives.
The early establishment of overseas offices reflects both the rapid evolution of the platform and its global potential.
Imagine a Winston Churchill avatar greeting visitors at the Natural History Museum, or a Queen Victoria character answering questions at the entrance to the V&A – not active projects yet, but vivid examples of what’s possible with 1956 Individuals’ technology.

Babita Devi Chief Commercial Officer of1956 Individuals

The forensic accuracy of the Turing avatar is being led by 1956 Individuals’ Creative Director – a BAFTA award-winning former Sony Creative Director –ensuring every detail, from voice to physical features, is historically faithful more than 70 years after Turing’s death.
1956 Individuals is also developing an avatar of Queen Eleanor of Castile, the influential first wife of Edward I, with the same commitment to historical precision. With global commercialisation in sight, the company prioritises accuracy over speed.

1956 Individuals has entered the Start-up of the Year and Disruptive Technology categories and is also in the running for Business of the Year.

When I recently interviewed the Turing avatar at The EpiCentre, I forgot to ask about 1956 Individuals’ awards chances. But, true to the mind he’s modelled on, he would likely have answered with quiet diplomacy.
