Clear Tax have moved in!

Accountancy and tax consultants ClearTax have taken space at The EpiCentre in Haverhill citing the fully inclusive terms offered there as the incentive to move to the centre.

Janine McLaughlin, Founder and Director of ClearTax, (pictured on the right) says: “The good thing that stood out for me at The EpiCentre is its fully inclusive terms. Whereas in the past, in other accommodation, we have had to pay a service charge on top of the rent, meaning there are unknown costs. I like the fact that one can budget easily each month,” adds McLaughlin.

The other benefits that are a big plus for her are the facilities, the café on site, the reception area, the use of conference rooms, the ample car parking and the flexible lease terms. “It’s a good space to work and be in.”

McLaughlin, who set up the company in 2009 lives in nearby Stoke-by-Clare, so it’s only a 15-minute drive into work, and much of her client base is local, being in the Saffron Waldon, Linton and Haverhill areas.

Her all-female team are working mums, (including Sarah Pumfrey pictured on the left) so their hybrid approach of working both in the office and at home, allows them to work flexibly around childcare and school holidays.

ClearTax provides tax and accounting services to a wide range of sectors from the trades, including painters, carpenters, gardeners and builders, to start-ups, management consultancies, retailers, dentists and vets. Being in a region where biotech, pharma and life sciences predominate, McLaughlin, who trained with KPMG in Cambridge and is a tax specialist, can help start-up businesses with their R&D tax relief claims, an important element when you have start-up tech.
