In-home senior care company Quality Living Plus, has taken a six-person office at The EpiCentre in Haverhill, to accommodate its growing domiciliary care business.
Company owner, Betty Mungofa, says: “We now have 70 clients and counting, and we hope to have 100 clients by the end of the year. Our service users are located in the Haverhill, Clare, Long Melford and Sudbury areas, so The EpiCentre is ideally suited for us as it is in the centre of this region.
“We like The EpiCentre a lot. The offices are spacious which allow us to store the equipment that we use to train our staff. There is also a café here which allows people from the community to visit us at any time giving us exposure to a wider circle of people,” adds Mungofa.
Quality Living Plus, which is regulated by the Care Quality Commission, has a contract with Suffolk County Council with 60% of its clients coming from this source. The remainder are private users recommended through word of mouth. The company provides in-home senior care, helping older adults continue to live well and independently at home. This includes visiting care, live-in care, dementia care and respite care.
Mungofa’s colleague Clement Adu Sarfo says: “All our carers receive professional specialised training before we match the best carers to the client’s specific requirements. We offer real care solutions and care plans, specifically designed to support a family’s needs.”
Both Mungofa and Adu Sarfo are registered nurses. Mungofa worked at Addenbrookes, the Cambridge University Hospital, for 9.5yrs and Clement worked at Cambridge Manor Care Home.
“I think what makes us stand out is that before we start supplying the service we meet the service users and their families and assess their needs and expectations. What we have found with the drop-in visit service is that our clients want consistency and flexibility. Our service users can call us any time and we will make sure that we can offer what they are requesting,” adds Clement.
Helen Earl, Centre Manager at The EpiCentre, says: “We welcome Betty, Clement and their team to the centre, to fulfil this very important domiciliary care role for the region. Oxford Innovation’s business support service should be invaluable in helping the company to grow.”
