International Women’s Day Event 8th March

Women Holding #BreakTheBias signs for International Womens Day
On the 8th March our Centre Manager Kelly and Innovation Director Babita attended a truly inspiring International Women’s Day event held at The Hold in Ipswich. The EpiCentre partnered with the University of Suffolk and Suffolk Chamber to celebrate the occasion with women in Suffolk.
 

Kelly described the event as uplifting, engaging, informative and inspirational!

Along with our very own Babita Devi the line-up of speakers offered an information and diverse insight into their career progression and insights on how to overcome gender bias sharing a wealth of knowledge and expertise. This line up included:

Babita Devi – Innovation Director of bStrategic, Strategy Coach at the Judge Business School , Cambridge University and Innovation Director for Oxford Innovation at The EpiCentre, Haverhill

Dr Sarah Williamson – Laing O’Rourke Technical Director for nuclear and is currently seconded with NNB as Civil Programme Director for Sizewell C

Daniella Lord – Positive Action Recruitment Advisor (Suffolk Constabulary) and Vice-Chair of the Suffolk Ethnic Police Association (ESPA)

Cassie McMaster – Co-founder of leep impact. Cassie holds a masters in Multi-Disciplinary Gender Studies from the University of Cambridge and has worked extensively in women’s policy issues in the USA and abroad

Dr Belinda Board – Founding CEO of Peoplewise, a global business psychology consultancy with hubs in Singapore and the US and headquartered in London

The women that spoke came from a variety of backgrounds which in turn made for an inclusive and innovative event.

The event certainly did this, attendees left feeling inspired. Celebrating women in business and all their success.

Our Innovation Centres remain operational and accessible, and provide a safe environment for our staff and customers.
