The EpiCentre is to Support Haverhill Science Festival 2026 by hosting a series of events

The EpiCentre will be supporting this year’s Haverhill Science Festival, taking place from Monday 20th to Saturday 25th April.

Returning after the inaugural event in 2024, the festival brings together local schools, businesses, and community organisations to promote engagement with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Centre manager, Helen Earl says: “As part of the festival programme, The EpiCentre will host a series of events throughout the week aimed at local businesses, entrepreneurs, and individuals interested in developing skills or exploring opportunities within STEM-related fields.

“As a centre that includes dedicated laboratory space alongside business support facilities, it makes sense for The EpiCentre to be involved in the Science Festival. It’s a good opportunity to connect the companies based here, our wider business community and local people, and to highlight the range of careers and opportunities within STEM.”

The EpiCentre’s programme includes:

Monday 20th April – A practical workshop at Sturmer Nurseries, offering expert advice on growing your own vegetables and transforming them into healthy, creative meals.

Tuesday 21st April – A branding and digital strategy workshop led by Identity Creative, helping businesses refine their brand identity and optimise their website to better achieve commercial goals.

Wednesday 22nd April – Haverhill Business Networking event featuring guest speakers KluraLabs, who will share insights into their entrepreneurial journey and innovative solutions to combat food waste.

Following this, Len Keenan from Emveria Creations will host drop-in sessions providing tailored support with copywriting, website content, and presentation preparation.

Thursday 23rd April – A unique opportunity to get hands-on with cutting-edge technology as Thermo Fisher showcases its latest equipment. Attendees are encouraged to sign up early to secure their place.

Friday 24th April – Phil Spalding from Cambolc will deliver an introduction to FlockXR, a free-to-use gaming platform, in a session aimed at parents and grandparents interested in digital engagement (children are also welcome).

Later that day, Phil will host a digital clinic to assist individuals with upgrading Windows 10 laptops using open-source software solutions.

The festival will culminate in a Community Science Day on Saturday 25th April, bringing together a variety of interactive activities and demonstrations for all ages.
