The EpiCentre Marks Five Years of Innovation and Growth

We’re thrilled to share that The EpiCentre has officially celebrated its fifth anniversary!

It’s been an incredible five years of supporting entrepreneurs, start-ups, and growing businesses across the East of England.

Last week, we welcomed more than 130 guests to mark this milestone and reflect on what we’ve achieved together:
✅ Over 300 jobs created for the local economy
✅ £150 million raised in grants and investments
✅ More than 2,000 hours of business support delivered
✅ 172 companies supported since opening our doors

Jo Stevens, Managing Director of Oxford Innovation Space, summed up the moment perfectly:
“Celebrating five years of The EpiCentre is a proud moment for all of us. From day one, our mission has been to create a space where innovation thrives and businesses can grow. Today, we stand as a vibrant community of entrepreneurs and innovators who are shaping the future of science and technology – having supported 172 companies and helped secure £150 million in funding. This milestone is not just about the past five years, it’s about the exciting opportunities ahead and the continued impact we will make together.”

We also heard from Nic Rumsey of Jaynic, who built The EpiCentre in 2020, and our own Centre Manager, Helen Earl, who reminded us of how far we’ve come since opening during the height of the pandemic – even serving as a vaccination centre for Haverhill. Today, we’re proud to be over 80% occupied, home to businesses in life sciences, AI, renewable energy, and creative tech.
