Paralympian Caroline Maclean had the task of drawing the winning ticket in a Balloon Lottery held to raise money for Citizens Advice West Suffolk.
The winning ticket, which entitles the holder to enjoy a Virgin balloon flight for four people, was drawn by Caroline at the Drabbet Smock pub in Haverhill on Saturday.
Caroline was a member of the GB wheelchair basketball team at three Paralympic Games, including London 2012 – the year in which she also carried the Olympic Torch as it came though her home town of Haverhill.
The lottery was the brainchild of Citizens Advice volunteer Michael Simpkin, of Haverhill, and was held to raise the profile of the charity, as well as bringing in some funds.
The lottery was sponsored by The EpiCentre at Haverhill Research Park and the Haverhill branches of Peasgood & Skeates Funeral Directors and Fairhurst Menuhin & Co Solicitors.
Michael, a former Trustee for the charity, said: “I was happy with the way it went.”
A Race Night will be held at the Baltic Amber Restaurant & Bar in Haverhill in November to raise money for Citizens Advice West Suffolk.
