Entrepreneur Dr Shola Adeyemi, who has multiple business interests, has taken a virtual office at The EpiCentre in Haverhill, to grow his two AI-powered businesses: AgriTwin Intelligence, focusing on insights from leaves, and security business CheetahSwift Security.
“AgriTwin uses AI to fight crop disease and unlike other tools on the market that the big agri-tech companies are offering for large-scale farming, AgriTwin is working to make it available to all levels of farming from subsistence farmers upwards.
“Our vision is to see a world where no harvest is lost to preventable crop disease or pest because every farmer has real-time or near-real-time data to respond accordingly,” comments Dr Adeyemi.
“If we want to fight for food security, I think we should also fight for those people who are growing crops to feed themselves. On top of that, there are those who are farming to sell to others, and if we can put that fight across all the different stakeholders, then we should be able to have food security and sustain it.
Dr Adeyemi says he decided to take a virtual office at The EpiCentre because of the committed support provided by the centre management team. “I went to a networking event there and saw they had all this support for businesses. I am registered with other virtual office providers as well, but all they do is just send us our mail. There are no activities, no networking events, nothing, but at The EpiCentre I saw the real possibility of gaining from what The EpiCentre has to offer.”
Centre manager Helen Earl, says: “Having Dr Shola Adeyemi, as a virtual customer of The EpiCentre, is typical of the business ecosystem that we have created here. Our clients span the whole business spectrum from life sciences and bio-technology to audiology and accountancy practices. These companies benefit from the support and networking opportunities that are on offer here.
“Virtual offices are very good for start-up businesses with a low-cost entry level and flexible terms. We offer a high-profile address and a professional image for all our customers. In addition, they gain access to the business support provided by our Innovation Director Gary Jennings.” Amongst many other interests, Dr Adeyemi has CheetahSwift Security that is also registered at The EpiCentre.
Dr Adeyemi says: “as well as growing my own companies to make profits, another objective is to also empower other people to build their own business.” With CheetahSwift Security run by a business associate, Dr Adeyemi is providing support with the aid of technology. He says that traditional security companies need to leverage technology in the way they provide security, and CheetahSwift Security is embracing this. That includes the use of key holding facilities, mobile patrols, CCTV cameras, celebrity security and even the use of drones for crowd control.
