Paradox Business Consultancy, a specialist tax advisory firm, has expanded its operations with the opening of a new office at The EpiCentre in Haverhill.
The consultancy is led by Stephen Bunting, who manages the Haverhill office, alongside his partner Hannah Tilson, who runs the Kent branch in Chatham. Both bring extensive experience from their previous roles at Grant Thornton, the world’s seventh-largest accounting network.
Stephen Bunting commented:
“Our mission is to combine the technical expertise and professionalism found in large accountancy firms with the personal service and flexibility of a smaller practice. Whether you’re a sole trader seeking to maximise tax relief, an accountant needing specialist advice, or a larger business requiring long-term strategic support, we’re here to help.”
He added that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are increasingly facing the same tax challenges as larger corporations:
“Many SMEs can’t justify the high fees charged by the big firms. We’re closing that gap by offering the same level of expertise at a cost-effective rate. In fact, most of our clients are accountants who prefer to outsource complex tax work to us.”
Paradox’s move to The EpiCentre marks a return to familiar surroundings. The firm originally started with a hot desk at the centre before relocating to Haverhill town centre to work alongside local accountancy practice 1 Accounts.
Stephen, who lives in Haverhill and has known 1Accounts director Paul Donno since their school days, said:
“The EpiCentre offers a professional and collaborative environment with great networking opportunities. The management team here are friendly, proactive, and always willing to help—it’s a great place to grow our business.”
Helen Earl, Centre Manager at The EpiCentre, welcomed the expansion:
“We are delighted to see Stephen and his team return to The EpiCentre. Their move demonstrates the strength of our local business ecosystem, where collaboration and community help businesses like Paradox and 1Accounts thrive.”
Outside of his professional role, Stephen is a dedicated practitioner of Kung Fu, the traditional Chinese martial art. He lives in Haverhill with his partner, a nurse at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, and has two grown-up children.
