Specialist Waterproofing Consultancy Chooses The EpiCentre as New Business Base

The EpiCentre welcomes Richardson Design Associates Limited (RDA-UK), a specialist consultancy founded by below-ground structural waterproofing expert Luke Dear, who has chosen the innovation centre’s virtual office facilities as the headquarters for his new business.

Born and raised in Essex, Luke has built more than a decade of experience across the construction industry. Starting in interior design and CAD, he progressed into spatial planning and utility infrastructure before specialising in below-ground structural waterproofing – one of the sector’s most technical disciplines. Later in 2019, he achieved the industry-recognised Certified Surveyor in Structural Waterproofing (CSSW) qualification through the Property Care Association (PCA). He is also a Technician Member of the Institute of Concrete Technology.

Having worked on projects ranging from bespoke homes to major commercial and UK infrastructure schemes, including high-profile developments across London, HS2, northern powerhouses such Leeds & Manchester, and the Southeast. Luke established Richardson Design Associates Limited in 2026 to provide independent consultancy services.

“It’s imperative that below-ground structures are designed to withstand the possibility of hydrostatic water pressure throughout its design life,” said Luke. “Getting the waterproofing design right from the outset is essential to protecting below ground space(s), reducing risk and meeting the requirements of warranty providers, insurers and local authorities.”

RDA-UK works with architects, engineers, developers and contractors to deliver independent, project-specific waterproofing solutions for residential, commercial and infrastructure developments across East Anglia and the UK.

Luke chose The EpiCentre to provide a professional business base close to home while benefiting from its business support services.
