Fast growing software development company Snowing Data is the first company to take space at The EpiCentre, in Haverhill, that opens this November.

Snowing Data, that has seven employees already is set to double in staff numbers by the end of the year and The EpiCentre with its flexible terms and all-in services is the ideal location for the company.

“We are delighted to be moving into The EpiCentre which will allow us to expand as the company grows. With our new product for start-up businesses The Real Essentials and our Near Source solutions for software development, we needed a location that is great for our employees and able to accommodate our rapid growth. The EpiCentre gives us both with its innovation inspiring environment and excellent facilities,” says Snowing Data CEO Asa Burrows.

Snowing Data provides support to established companies to get IT projects off their desks and to help with their digital transformation. For the growing number of start-ups, it also provides an off-the-shelf professional IT package, so that they can concentrate on launching and growing their business.

In addition, Burrows has set up SKC Games Studio that will also be based at The EpiCentre and is developing an original AAA game franchise with a story that is fictional with a non-fictional context.

The EpiCentre is run by Oxford Innovation, the UK’s leading operator of innovation centres with 26 managed facilities around the British Isles.

Gareth Scargill, commercial director at Oxford Innovation, says: “The innovation centre is the perfect home for a company like Snowing Data which can match its space requirements to the size of its business as it grows and develops. We look forward to working with Asa and the team at Snowing Data and helping it through its business evolution in the coming years,” he adds.

Scargill urges organisations looking for flexible office or laboratory space to visit the centre’s website and to get in touch to find out more about the centre.

Strategically located near Cambridge and part of the South Cambridge Business and Technology Cluster, The EpiCentre is ideal for growing business. Onsite and nearby amenities include restaurants, a nursery, landscaped lake and jetty, retail stores, petrol station, ATM and car wash.

On completion, The EpiCentre will have over 60 office suites available from 17sqm (172 sqft) up to 78sqm (840sqft) including  three flexible shared laboratory spaces with access to specialist equipment. These suites are available for pre-let immediately, and are supplemented by communal breakout spaces, a café and meeting and conference rooms.

The offices will be rented out on an inclusive basis to include reception, concierge, rent, rates and utilities, and the building has fibre broadband with a minimum capacity of One Gigabyte.

The centre will house a purpose-built shared laboratory with write-up space. Furnished with a range of specialist equipment, the shared lab space is ideal for tissue culturing, microbiology research, and more. It includes a CO2 Incubator, autoclave, centrifuge, LN2 vessel, shaking incubator, chemical fume hood, glass washer and Phase 3 power outlets.

The EpiCentre is directly adjacent to the ‘Spirit of Enterprise’ roundabout on the A413 and is in a high-profile gateway position at the entrance to Haverhill. The EpiCentre benefits from 115 car parking spaces with electric charging points available.

Scargill comments that “The EpiCentre will provide a great location for ambitious, innovative and growing companies as part of the Greater Cambridge eco-system, enabling start-ups, SMEs and entrepreneurs to push the boundaries in their field and drive economic growth.

“We are offering much more than a serviced office or laboratory with flexible space. Our offer is not to ‘let and forget’ but to provide ‘value-add’ to our customers through our inclusive business coaching and support programme.

“Oxford Innovation has an outstanding track record of success in incubating and accelerating high growth businesses providing the provision of specialist coaching services and funding support through our established investor networks,” adds Scargill.

An integral part of its offer is innovation services to entrepreneurs, including business planning advice, coaching and mentoring. Oxford Innovation also manages investment networks that link investors with entrepreneurs seeking funding from £20,000 to £2m.
