The EpiCentre celebrates three award successes at the West Suffolk Business Awards 2026

EDR Technology and KluraLabs are recognised at the acclaimed Bury Free Press West Suffolk Business Awards, taking home two wins and a highly commended accolade.

Clients of The EpiCentre celebrated a successful evening at the Bury Free Press West Suffolk Business Awards 2026, securing three accolades across green technology, manufacturing and innovation, and investment in West Suffolk.

Held at The Apex in Bury St Edmunds on Friday 9th October, the gala dinner brought together businesses from across the region to celebrate the achievements, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit driving West Suffolk’s economy.

EDR Technology won the Investing in West Suffolk award, sponsored by West Suffolk Council, in a competitive category that included SKC Studios and Greene King. The company also received a Highly Commended recognition in the Green/Environment category, sponsored by Arc Shopping Centre in Bury St Edmunds.

Meanwhile, KluraLabs won the Manufacturing & Innovation award, sponsored by NFU Mutual Bury St Edmunds, celebrating its contribution to scientific innovation and the development of solutions with the potential to deliver meaningful environmental benefits.

The awards represent a significant achievement for both businesses and highlight the strength of the innovative companies based at The EpiCentre, where science, technology and enterprise come together to address real-world challenges.

Ed Aspeling of EDR, said: “We are incredibly proud to have won the Investing in West Suffolk Award and receiving Highly Commended in the Green Environment Award.

“From humble beginnings to establishing ourselves more at The EpiCentre, our journey has always been rooted in West Suffolk. The EpiCentre has provided a fantastic environment for us to grow, collaborate and innovate, and these awards are a wonderful recognition of our team’s hard work and commitment to the region. We’re excited about what lies ahead and proud to be building our future right here in Haverhill.”

Dr Reza Saberi Moghaddam, Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at KluraLabs, said:

“Winning at the Bury Free Press West Suffolk Business Awards 2026 is a proud moment for all of us at Klura. As a founder and Chief Scientific Officer, it is especially rewarding to see our team’s scientific curiosity, creativity and hard work recognised. We founded Klura with a belief that better science can help reduce waste and build a more sustainable future. This award encourages us to keep turning that belief into real-world impact.”

Helen Earl, Centre Manager at The EpiCentre, said: “We are incredibly proud to see our clients recognised at the West Suffolk Business Awards. We have an exciting roster of businesses at The EpiCentre, each bringing fresh ideas, expertise and ambition to their respective fields. This is exactly what an innovation centre should be about: supporting young, growing companies in both laboratory and office spaces, giving them the environment, facilities and support they need to realise their potential and make a real impact. Seeing EDR Technology and KluraLabs achieve this recognition is a fantastic endorsement of the talent and innovation we are fortunate to have here.”

The ceremony was hosted by Shaun Williamson, best known for playing Barry Evans in EastEnders and for his musical entertainment venture Barrioke. His performance and good-humoured hosting helped make the evening a memorable celebration of business success across the region.

This is the second year in a row that companies based at The EpiCentre have picked up honours at the awards. Last year, Aceso Biosciences/Essentia BioSciences, won the West Suffolk Award for Innovation, while SKC Studios – now operating under the 1956 Individuals brand – was Highly Commended in the same category.
