What can robotics achieve for SME manufacturers?
May 10, 2022 @ 14:00 - 17:00
About this event
Improving quality while reducing costs are possible simultaneously!
Thanks to robotics, SME manufacturers are overcoming labour challenges, becoming more competitive, and finding it easier to meet increasing demand for their products.
But how are robotics and process automation being used in areas like food production? How can SME’s take their first steps towards using these new technologies?
Factory automation specialists, FANUC, will share examples of their work and the outcomes they’ve achieved for clients through robotics and process automation. We’ll explore how robotics can be used to full advantage to increase outputs and meet growing consumer demand, enhance quality and safety, and close performance and productivity gaps.
Marcus Bellett-Travers, Agri-Food Technology Lead from ARU Peterborough will also be discussing how manufacturers can develop their workforce skillsets, and boost innovation and collaboration to make the most of new technologies in partnership with the new university.
This event is part of the ACMI 4.0 programme which is helping SME manufacturers adopt and integrate Industry 4.0 technologies with:
- a £300,000 capital grants fund to support the purchase of new technologies
- 12 hours identify where Industry 4.0 can have the biggest impact on performance, which technologies to prioritise, and additional support to increase productivity.
